Update on my life...
Not much has changed since my last post.
I made Twisted Metal, and the team is very fun to hangout with and play with. They are also intimidating in a way because I don't consider myself athletic, and Metal is considered one of the most athletically gifted teams in club ultimate. I am by far the worst athlete out of all the tryouts who made it. whew! i think i just squeaked on.
Anyway, I have been happy with my play. At every tourney, I have been getting numerous D blocks. The one thing that i have been disappointed in has been my throwing and cutting. I didn't play college this year, and i had a weird club season last fall because I got mono and didn't get to play or practice much. I really only got to play major playing time at regionals due to the fatigue associated with the disease, and I pretty much destroyed myself doing it too.
As far as cutting, i think that will just come with being familiar with the team, i am starting to break ankles at practice (sometimes mine though... especially when i wear turf shoes.... dumb idea), and the captains are doing a great job of getting a more structured offense, so i am not lost when i think i am making a great, wide open cut and someone cuts from the second spot in the stack in front of me.
As for the throws... my long throws currently suck. I am 0-3 in hucks this season in tourneys. One handblock, one wet noodle in the rain, and one out the back!!!. I don't really count the out the back one since it was on short fields, it was a good throw, and i need to feel good about myself.
anyway, we are ramping up for the Invite. We had a fairly intense weekend camp last sat and sunday and we are practicing tonight.
that is all for now,
